Teamwork makes the dream work.

Here at SARCAN, we put a big emphasis on teamwork. We think that great things happen when everyone teams up and works together – building each other up and helping one another. As a result, SARCAN has partnered with many organizations to achieve our goals, and help others achieve theirs.

Here are some of SARCAN’s main partnerships.

Partners

ProductCare

Our mission is to provide product stewardship solutions that advance the efficiency and effectiveness of program delivery for our members, while caring for the environment, our consumers and our employees.

– ProductCare Mission Statement

SARCAN accepts household paint for recycling on behalf of Product Care Recycling. Product Care Recycling is an industry-led organization working to protect the environment by providing free recycling locations for consumers and businesses to bring products like paint and other household items.

Product Care Recycling diverts these post-consumer products from Canada’s landfills and waterways, ensuring they are managed responsibly at their end-of-life.

EPRA

As an industry-led, not-for-profit, product stewardship organization, we enable businesses and consumers to sustainably manage their obligated electronic products while delivering efficient, effective regulatory compliance.

– EPRA Mission Statement

SARCAN accepts end-of-useful-life electronics for recycling on behalf of the Electronic Product Recycling Association (EPRA). As a recognized industry-led not-for-profit organization, Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) provides environmental compliance programs for manufacturers, distributors and retailers of electronics.

EPRA is responsible for implementing and operating, on behalf of their stewards, a safe and secure program for the recovery and reclamation of end-of-life electronic products. Approximately 100 Million Devices have been successfully diverted from landfill since the program started in 2009.

Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!

Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!® is Canada’s leading national consumer battery recycling organization which, on behalf of our Members, safely maximizes the diversion of batteries from landfills through an established and convenient collection network.

– Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! Mission Statement

SARCAN accepts out-of-use household batteries under 5kg for recycling on behalf of Recycle Your Batteries, Canada!, the provincially-approved consumer battery collection and recycling program for Saskatchewan and other provinces. Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! accepts household batteries (weighing up to 5 kg) for recycling through its network of more than 9,000 collection locations across Canada including retail and business organizations, government, and municipal depots.

Recycle Your Batteries, Canada! is committed to protecting and preserving the environment by keeping consumer batteries out of landfill and since launching in Canada in 1997, has safely and responsibly collected and recycled 22 million kilograms of batteries.

TeleMiracle

TeleMiracle is a 20-hour, annual telethon that is broadcast live in Saskatchewan. Despite only having a population around one million people, the generous residents of the province have helped us raise over $159 million since 1977.

– Kinsmen Foundation

SARCAN partners with Telemiracle to raise funds for them year-round. Make a donation to Telemiracle by using the phrase ‘Telemiracle’ on any Drop & Go Kiosk in the province.

Recycle Sask

SARCAN is proud to be a member of Recycle Saskatchewan, a group of organizations working with government and other stakeholders to support and enhance effective product stewardship and extended producer responsibility (EPR) in Saskatchewan.

Recycle Saskatchewan members are independent organizations that have joined together to support and enhance the post-consumer management of products and their packaging. All members are responsible for managing the proper end-of-life of specific products and packaging in Saskatchewan, have legitimate authority for managing the post-consumer stage of a product or packaging, either based on provincial legislation or a public mandate and are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of a product or packaging.

Members include Product Care Recycling, EPRA, Call2Recycle®, and others.

SWRC

SARCAN would recycle everything if we could! Luckily, for the items that we don’t accept, the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council can help you out!

SWRC works toward a waste-free Saskatchewan by finding opportunities, creating connections, and promoting solutions. They offer an extensive database – their Waste Reduction Hub – that houses details and information on dozens of household items, including where and how to recycle, repair, donate, or compost those items.

Their vision is a waste-free Saskatchewan. As such, they coordinate many community events throughout the province to help community members lower their waste, offer tips and training, coordinate ‘Waste Reduction Week in Canada’ for Saskatchewan, and put on an annual conference on waste reduction that brings hundreds of people together to learn, discuss, and explore the opportunities in technology, partnerships, and policy that will move toward becoming a waste-free Saskatchewan.
