The life of a Large SARCAN Depot Supervisor

Each and every SARCAN team member is an important part of our team and our community.  As a Large Depot Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising all depot staff, including coaching, scheduling, communications, performance evaluations and management, safety, maintenance and documentation of personnel files, training and more.
  • Assisting in the recruitment process and recommending candidates for hire.
  • Ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed for depot operations
  • Ensuring and/or providing good customer relations
  • Completing all depot forms, reports, and accounting accurately
  • Performing all tasks within the depot, from counting containers for deposit refund and operating the Point-of-Sale system or tills to preparing containers for shipping
  • Providing external communications
  • Attending training and workshops as required.
  • Performing other tasks as required

What are the skills you must have to perform this role?

To be successful as a Large Depot Supervisor at SARCAN, you will need to:

  • Have a minimum of three to four years related experience, most recently in a supervisory role
  • Possess effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ensure day to day work is completed accurately
  • Display amazing customer service skills.
  • Have the ability to do physical work and stand for long periods of time.
  • Working knowledge of OH&S regulations in an industrial setting is essential.
  • Have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft 365; comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
  • Portray a high level of professionalism.
  • Be committed to teamwork and meeting team goals.
  • Be flexible and willing to change priorities and deadlines.
  • Be able to work effectively with persons with all abilities.
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment.
