The life of a Small SARCAN Depot Supervisor.
- Supervising all depot staff, including coaching, scheduling, communication, safety, documentation for employee files, training and ensuring the well-being of the staff. Prepares and presents performance evaluations.
- Assisting in the recruitment process and recommending candidates for hire.
- Becoming the biggest recycling expert among all of your family and friends
- Ensuring proper policies and procedures are followed for depot operations.
- Ensuring and/or providing good customer relations including proper handling of customer complaints, inquiries and public tours.
- Ensuring building and equipment upkeep and maintenance (may include small repairs).
- Ensuring all depot forms, reports and accounting is completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Ensuring proper OH&S policies and procedures are being followed.
- Ensuring that proper cash control and handling procedures are adhered to.
- Performing all tasks within the depot, from customer service, counting containers for deposit refund and operating the Point-of-Sale system or tills to preparing containers for shipping and loading product onto trailers for transport.
- Providing external communications.
- Attending training and workshops and performing other tasks as required.
What are the skills you must have to perform this role?
To be successful as a Depot Supervisor at SARCAN, you will need to:
- Have a Grade 12 diploma, and two to three years related experience
- Possess good communication, both written and verbal
- Display amazing customer service skills
- Have the ability to do physical work
- Be dependable and reliable
- Working knowledge of OH&S regulations in an industrial setting is essential.
- Have demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft 365; comfortable learning new technical systems as needed.
- High level of professionalism is expected.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment.
